Anne Pommier lives in Washington, DC. Her artwork is inspired by her travels, meetings, thoughts, memories, as well as her research as a planetary scientist. Most of the pieces benefitted from the positive influence of close relations, whose love and support shaped the meaning of these works.
Most paintings are oil on linen canvas (a few are oil on wood) and mosaics are made out of glass on wood. A few mixed media pieces involve acrylic paint. Some paintings contain glued or sewn items, such as glass beads, metal parts, shells, wood parts, enamels, tiles... They aim to give some kind of relief to the painting, and are always involved in its meaning.
